Design & Build

This new build project, for Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust comprising a major hospital extension to provide new care wards for the elderly and dementia sufferers at the existing Sunnyside Hospital site at Hinckley.

The rooms are grouped in “pods” to avoid long intimidating corridors and communal areas are linked by short access areas to create an identifiable and domestic ambience.

Sustainability features include rainwater harvesting, grey water for toilet flushing, cedar panelling and maximum use of natural light.

Contract Period: 48 weeks

The new facility has increased the care capacity from 18 beds up to 48 beds with a mixture of single and four bedrooms, together with day rooms, treatment rooms, palliative care and discharge suites.
