I joined G F Tomlinson in 1995 after studying Real Estate at University.
My first role was site based where I gained a full understanding of the Company’s construction business and experienced first-hand the grassroots culture of the workforce, which have always continued to be our greatest asset.
In 1999 I was made Director of the Groups Plant Hire business, before moving on to become a Director of G F Tomlinson Group Limited in 2005.
For over 20 years I worked alongside my father Barry Sewards, who was Chairman and Managing Director of the Group. During that time, we became a formidable partnership, working closely together to steer the Company, jointly contributing to the growth and ongoing success of the business.
Now, I have succeeded my father in the role of Chairman of G F Tomlinson Group Limited and I am also a Board Director of all the subsidiary companies.
Building on our strong reputation in the industry and Midlands Region, developed over 130 years in business, I continue to take the company forward. We work extensively within the Public Sector on civic, education and healthcare schemes and in the Private Sector on commercial, industrial and leisure schemes, many of which come via repeat business and/or established frameworks.
A big part of our success is the legacy we have created contributing positively to supporting
local employment, social value and carbon reduction initiatives.
