Design & Build

The project brief was to establish an enclosed compositing vessel technology capable of processing 40,000 tonnes per annum of type three green waste.

The In-vessel system allows material to be collected separately and processed to produce compost material to PAS 100 specification.

The new site incorporates an environmental control system to draw air into the building and permanent filtration ‘biofilter’ to clean all air of odours and microbes prior to release into the environment.

Contract Period: 32 weeks

External apron yard slab was formed to allow the maturation of the compost once it has been through the in-vessel facility. In addition, substantial surface water and ‘leachate’ drainage systems, 2 weigh bridges and a separate stand-alone office facilities were incorporated within the scheme.
